Blackwater river in Venezuela. More information under the title Water Cycle.

Tropical rain forests are structured in levels. The Vireo (Vireonidae), a small songbird, sleeps at night at a height of two meters.

Ant gardens are an astonishing example for the coexistence of plants and animals. Ants carry the seeds of various epiphytes in their next and fertilize them with their excrement that they also collect to some extent. They are rewarded with sugar and starch.

Fungi play a decisive role as recycler in the cycle of rain forests. Here a live beetle has become victim to a "fungus attack".

Scinax garbei and Scinax funerea. Both belong to the tree frogs and are examples of the diversity of tropical rain forests
